Welcome back to a new term and our exciting topic - Street Detectives!
Mrs Westrup - Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday
Mrs Beskin - Thursday/Friday
This term we welcome Mrs Beskin and wish Mrs King all the best for her maternity leave. We will be starting our new topic - Street Detectives! This topic is largely based on the local area, and how it has changed over the past 100 years. We are starting the topic with our 'Wow' day - a Victorian theme day on Friday 4th January. See the letters page for more information.
Homework - will be sent weekly and will include reading and spellings. We will be taking part in the school reading race, and would like all children to read at home at least 5 times per week. We will count on a Monday how many times a child has read at home and these will work towards earning raffle tickets and other prizes! Please bring book bags to school everyday.
PE - will be on a Monday and a Friday. On a Monday it will be taught by our sports coach, Mr Young. On a Friday it will be taught by Mr Hunton (2H teacher). Children will need indoor and outdoor kit, all named please!
Water bottles - these should only contain water, no juice or flavoured water please. Snacks will be provided and all children are entitled to a free school lunch everyday.
This is where we will keep you updated with day to day information and what is happening in our class! Please check regularly for updates!
Thursday 3rd January
Welcome back! We hope you have had a great Christmas and are looking forward to the year ahead. Tomorrow is our Victorian theme day, where the children will learn what schools were like 100 years ago! Dressing up is optional, but please come in usual school uniform if not dressing as a Victorian child. There are lots of ideas online for a simple costume. Any questions please ask - Mrs Westrup and Mrs Beskin.
