Photo Permission!

I'd love to start adding photos to our class page showing you what we get up to in school. Please ensure that you have filled in the permission consent form letting us know that you are happy for photos of your child to be included on the website.

Useful Information

Some useful info to get you started:

♦ You should have received the first Year 1 Newsletter by now. Please check your child's book bag. Let us know if you don't have one and we'll photocopy another for you.

♦ PE is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please make sure that children have both an indoor and outdoor PE kit and that all items are named.

Please, please read to and with your children as often as possible. By now, they should have brought home a school reading book. Earlier books are changed once they have been read three times (as their books get longer, this is reduced to twice and finally once). We encourage independence in Year 1 and children are expected to put their own book in our green box when it needs changing. Please remind them to do this.

♦ Remember that children are only allowed water in their water bottles. Please ensure these are named.

♦ A friendly reminder that only small bows are allowed and these, along with hair bobbles, need to be blue to match the school uniform.

Welcome to 1G

Welcome to the 1G class page. My name is Mr. Gilmore and I will be supported by Miss George and Mrs. Benton. We are very-much looking forward to working with yourselves and your children over the next year which we hope will be jam-packed with fun, learning experiences.

Most of the children have settled-in well and are beginning to adapt to the differences between Year 1 and Early Years. It is a big transition so there may still be a few early-morning tears but, please be assured that, once in class, they are fine. If you haver any concerns, myself or one of the other adults from 1G will be available shortly before the bell goes most mornings or at the end of the day once the other children have been dismissed. Please be patient at the end of the day - we have lots of new faces to learn!
