Evidence suggests that children who read for enjoyment every day not only perform better in reading tests, but also develop a broader vocabulary, increased general knowledge and a better understanding of the world around them.
Reading is a skill that is called upon in so many subjects and at so many times throughout the school day.
This is why we encourage children to read at home at least five times a week and to record all home reading in their reading logs. We ask that an adult initials each entry in the reading log.
English and Maths Homework:
Homework tasks will be set every Wednesday to be completed for the following Monday.
- English homework is to be written up in the homework exercise book (green).
- Maths homework can be found online (Mathletics). Log-in usernames and passwords can be found in your child's homework diary.
