In English this half term we have been learning about poetry and traditional tales!
In poetry we have learnt about Haiku poems and Tanka poems.
Example of a Haiku:
Ladybugs are small
And they very gently crawl
Red and black spots shine
Example of a Tanka:
Sun is a blanket
All the happiness has come
As quick as the wind
All of the world will smile
As summer will be coming
In traditional tales we have been learning about the traditional tale Goldilocks and the three bears.
We also have started making our own version and some people have changed the setting and characters.
The children have been reading the exciting story of Beowulf and they will be writing their own versions soon!
Look out for super similies!
They are as cool as a cucumber!
The children have been writing their own stories based on 'The Lighthouse.'
We have been using exciting adjectives to describe the story!
