The following information outlines timings, arrivals and other important information which we feel you may need.
School Day
The start and end of the school day will be staggered to limit the number of people accessing the school site at any one time. You must adhere to these timings:
Y1and Y2: 8:50 – 3:00
Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6: 8:40 – 3:15
Accessing the School Grounds
Y1 and Y2: You will need to enter the school through the small gate on Winston Avenue near Pre School/school library. After leaving your child at their classroom you will need to exit the school through the double gates on Dell Road or the gate to the back of the swimming pool onto the end of Winston Avenue.
Y3 and Y4: You will need to enter the school through the small gate on Winston Avenue near Pre School/school library. After leaving your child at their classroom you will need to exit the school through the double gates on Dell Road or the gate to the back of the swimming pool onto the end of Winston Avenue.
Y5 and Y6: You will need to enter the school through the corner gate between Dell Road and Winston Avenue or the gate from Colville Road, after leaving your child at their classroom you will need to exit the school through the double gates on Dell Road or the gate to the back of the swimming pool onto the end of Winston Avenue.
When dropping your child off at their classroom you will not be permitted to cross the red perimeter line painted around the entrances and exits to the building. Please say goodbye to your child at the line and encourage them to move swiftly into the classroom, your child's teacher will be standing at their classroom door ready to welcome them.
Bringing Belongings
As always, your child will be provided with all the resources they need to access learning in school. You will only need to provide them with a water bottle, a packed lunch (if they do not have school lunch) and a raincoat or sun hat depending on the weather. Children are welcome to bring a bag or book bag.
Classroom Routines
Social distancing measures are in place throughout school and in the classrooms. Children will spend each day with their class group and predominantly stay in their classroom. Handwashing and sanitising has increased with children frequently washing hands, particularly when moving to different areas of the school.
Breaks and Lunchtimes
During break and lunchtimes children will be allowed to play with other children in their class. Lunchtimes will be staggered so there will a smaller number of children outside at any one time. Children will not mix with other groups and each group will have their own zoned area in which to play.
PE
On the day your child has PE they need to come to school for the day in their PE kit – joggers or shorts, t-shirt and hoodie/jumper and trainers. They will stay in their PE kit for the whole day. All PE, weather permitting, will be outdoors.
You must not send your child to school if they, or anyone else in your household, has displayed symptoms of the Corona Virus.

Contacting the School
As you will be endeavouring to flow through the school premises without prolonged stopping when dropping off and collecting your child, and teachers will remain at classroom doors, any information you need to pass to them needs to be done so via your child, in a written note or called/emailed to the school office. Our email, admin@dell.suffolk.sch.uk, is always available and you can expect a speedy response between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm and our phone line, 01502 565956 is open between 8:15 am and 4:30 pm. Outside of these times, you can leave a message.
